Newsletter #17 April 20, 2003
We’re getting there….
Sorry it’s been so long in getting around to this newsletter! As most of
you know, we have been in the process of moving our facility. The last of the
equipment and animals were out of the old building by the end of February.
Although we had everything moved by then, we were far from finished with the
moving process! Not only did we have to set up the racks for the tanks, plumb
each of the systems, run air lines, hang lights and the list goes on…. Then
there were the electricians, the plumbers, the air conditioning people…..
Despite all of this, we had very few problems moving the fish and most have
settled in to their new surroundings at this point.
We’re still organizing things and fine tuning the systems, but we are
indeed getting there!
I can’t even begin to list all those that have helped with this move, but
I would like to express our sincere thanks to all of you!
Field work is about to begin for us. We would probably have been out already
were it not for the move, but first things first.
A new feature on our on our web site is the calendar. This can be accessed
by anyone that is interested. Pat has maintained a calendar in years past and
e-mailed it out to a list he developed over the years. This will probably take
the place of that. This one has the advantage of allowing us to include
additional information, directions or perhaps links relevant to the work. One
note. We are notorious for having to make last minute changes in our
plans…often due to weather or stream conditions. If you ever plan to accompany
us in the field, call or e-mail first! I hope you find it useful. Click
here
to check it out!
I’ll try to get back on track with the newsletter and update you on some
of the new and exciting projects we have in the works for this upcoming year.
I'll leave you with a few photos from our new facility....
Thanks again!
