Re-Introductions

The ultimate goal of many of our projects is to return captive-propagated fish to the waters where they historically occurred. Many of these populations have been wiped out by pollution, stream channelization, siltation, or other man-made causes. Improved management efforts on the part of governments, private industry, and the general public have led to the recovery of many badly damaged streams. Unfortunately, while some hardy species have returned to these streams, species with low population numbers and sparse distribution have been unable to make a comeback. Our goal is to help these rare species repopulate areas where they once occurred.
