Native Range: Disjunct range east and west of Mississippi Embayment; Cumberland and Tennessee river drainages, VA, NC, KY, TN, GA, AL, and MS; Upper Savannah and Santee drainages (Atlantic Slope), NC, SC, and GA; upper New River drainage, WV and VA; St. Francis and White River drainages, MO and AR (What do these terms mean?)

Spawning Habitat Preferences: Late spring to summer spawners in streams of varied sizes with moderate to fast flow; eggs are laid in crevices in rocks and wood

CFI Status: Propagated at CFI in 2006-2007 as mussel hosts for several mussel species. (What do these terms mean?)
