Hidden Rivers Film Screening at Hi-Wire Brewing

“Great Smoky Mountains Institute at Tremont is kicking off their Naturalist Week by earning a quick 10 points in the Level Up Challenge! (Not sure what we're talking about? Visit gsmit.org/naturalist.)

Join Tremont staff for a screening of Hidden Rivers, a 1-hour film that explores the rivers and streams of the Southern Appalachian region, North America’s most biologically rich waters. The film follows the work of conservation biologists and explorers throughout the region – revealing both the beauty and vulnerability of this aquatic life – and how many people are finding ways to protect these ecosystems.

We’ll be joined by our friends at Conservation Fisheries, a Knoxville nonprofit dedicated to the preservation and restoration of native fish populations. They were featured in the film and will be answering questions following the screening.

Kids are welcome at Hi-Wire Brewing. The space is game and activity heavy, featuring two soccer pool tables, table tennis, shuffleboard, foosball, and more. Non-alcoholic beverages are available for purchase, and food can be easily ordered from Redbud Kitchen next door. $1 from every flagship beer purchased during the event will be donated to Tremont.

This event is free and open to the public.”
