Volunteer Opportunity: Monday, April 10, 10:00AM-4:00PM — Invasive Species Management at Conservation Fisheries Inc. in Knoxville, TN.
A message from Mergoat:
We have been very fortunate to build a relationship with Conservation Fisheries Inc. over the last few months. These folks are doing work that is not only important, but also uncommon. @mergoat.garden is executing the first stage of a property restoration for CFI soon. As we planned this project, the folks there asked if we would be willing to host volunteers for one of the days, and we said OF COURSE!!
This is not only a fantastic opportunity to help an exemplary conservation org in our community, but ALSO a really cool opportunity to explore the fishery and learn about the inspiring work these folks do. These beloved ichthyologists will introduce you to the species they are currently working with, discuss their conservation status, and teach you about the strategies they employ to protect them (and even things you can do on your own!)
As always with Mergoat volunteer days, this will be a great chance to connect with likeminded folks, and learn a thing or two about invasive species management!
